Special Appeal for Support for the Guatemala Stove Project

October is Stewardship Month.

In this time of Covid -19, what can we do to help?

The pandemic has halted the many projects that the Bethel Stewardship Committee usually undertakes to raise funds for stewardship outreach projects … and so, with the support of the Bethel Official Board, the Stewardship Committee is launching a Special Appeal to raise money for the Guatemala Stove Project.

Over the years the Guatemala Stove Project has often been a very deserving recipient of support from our Bethel family with funds going to build stoves to improve the health and well being of the Maya people of Guatemala. Their need is greater than ever this year as, in addition to all the usual challenges of their day- to – day living, the Maya people have suffered a drought and a blight which wiped out their crops and many people have NO food. Their region has also been very hard-hit by the coronavirus. They need support.

The monies that we raise through this Special Appeal will be given to the Guatemala Stove Project to assist in their efforts to help the Guatemalan people.

If you are able to contribute to this Special Appeal, donations can be sent to our treasurer Sandra Walker at 1601 Guthrie Rd., Smiths Falls, K7A 5B8 or by e-transfer to This email address is being protected from spambots.
